“Reacher” star Alan Ritchson has opened up about using testosterone therapy in preparation for the second season of his Amazon hit show.

In a recent interview with Men’s Health, the actor explained that prior to Season 1 he developed his imposing muscular physique the old fashioned way — a heavy workout regimine, despite rumors to the contrary.

But Ritchson emphasized that doing so came at a huge price, telling Men’s Health, “I ravaged my body.” Among his injuries, he broke one of his acromioclavicular joints (which connects the shoulder to the collar bone). He also developed “a huge imbalance in hormones,” which he attribued to bulking up too quickly.

Literally everything he said is factually incorrect. You don’t suddenly start losing testosterone because of some shortcoming of aging. It is a natural progression of the human lifecycle and necessary. You lose testosterone because it is important to do so. Long term testosterone use is harmful to the aging human body.

I know plenty of people personally that can maintain a physique like him, are roughly his age, and they don’t use steroids. What he needs to do is eat properly and exercise properly. He even admitted his exercise regimen was inappropriate.

Chip, you don’t know anyone who has a physique like Ritchson without using gear. Stop being naive.
