A new study indicates that Americans may be getting more comfortable watching videos online, as U.S. Internet users watched 12.7 billion online videos in November, an increase of 34% versus a year ago. The numbers, released Monday by market researcher ComScore, indicate that Google’s YouTube is still the hottest U.S. video property, with nearly 40% of all videos viewed online – 5.1 billion videos viewed – accounting for over 98% of Google’s video traffic. Fox Interactive Media lagged far behind with 439 million videos watched, and Viacom Digital had 325 million. The data showed that 77% of all Internet users in the country had viewed online videos last year, with the average viewer tuning in for 273 minutes.
